The nearest airport is Sultan Mahmud Airport in Kuala Terengganu, which is around 15 kilometres from the city centre and 9.3 kilometres from the conference venue, Primula Beach Hotel. There are four airlines that fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu on a daily basis (Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, and Firefly). Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia travel from KLIA Terminal 1 and KLIA Terminal 2 to Sultan Mahmud Airport, respectively, while Firefly and Batik Air fly from Subang Airport. The flight takes roughly 45-55 minutes.
MARA Liner MyBAS buses run hourly from Sultan Mahmud Airport to Hentian Bas Majlis Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu. The fee ranges from MYR2 to MYR3, and the trip takes less than 10 minutes. There are also public taxis, Grab, Airasia Ride and Maxim, and the fee from the airport to the conference location is roughly MYR40.
Alternatively, renting a car allows you to customise your stay in Kuala Terengganu. There are also various automobile rental counters on the airport’s ground level that provide competitive rates.

Travelling by car from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu may be your best option if you own a vehicle or have opted to hire one for the duration of your visit. You may go at your own leisure with your own vehicle, stopping for lunch and sightseeing along the way.
The distance by vehicle from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu is 435.5 km through the East Coast Highway (LPT). The LPT, which starts from Gombak in Kuala Lumpur, has reduced travel time to Kuala Terengganu. It normally takes four to five hours to drive straight through, or more if you want to break it up and stop more frequently. Along the highway, there are several rest and relaxation (R&R) facilities.
Visitors may also enjoy picturesque views of the coastline and villages by taking Federal Route 3 from Kuantan, Johor Bharu, or Kota Bharu, which requires longer driving times.
Although flying is the quickest choice, it is not always the best. Going by bus from Kuala Lumpur or any other city to Kuala Terengganu allows you to explore parts of Malaysia that you would miss if you flew. Going by bus to Kuala Terengganu is the ideal alternative if you wish to avoid flying and go overland in a simple, pleasant, and direct journey. Travelling by bus to Kuala Terengganu is simple and inexpensive, with frequent departures available.
Kuala Terengganu is also extremely well connected by bus to the major cities in Peninsular Malaysia, notably its neighbouring city ‒ Singapore. A bus to Kuala Terengganu is available from a number of companies, with the majority of them costing between MYR50 and MYR70. If you are asking which is the best bus to Kuala Terengganu, the answer is dependent on your schedule because there is not much variation in service ‒ so simply pick the time that works best for you. If you prefer to sleep, there are night buses that depart late at night. The travel takes around six to seven hours, including two stops for food and drink.
If you are flying into Kuala Terengganu from KLIA Terminal 1, KLIA Terminal 2, or Subang Airport, buses will take you to Terminat Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). The bus costs from TBS to Kuala Terengganu range between MYR55 and MYR60, depending on the bus you choose.
